The Origins

Prater has a long and very interesting past. It was founded in 1837 as one of the first beer gardens in Berlin and over the years has turned into the extraordinary arts venue it is today. The name of Prater has origin from the old germa word, which is ‘Prata’, the word meaning meadow that brings out the greenish natural features of this beauty.

Green Escape

Like many other villages, Prater boasts of the green fields and a picturesque beer garden, which affords people in the area and visitors an opportunity to relax from the stiff city regimen. All around there are beautiful green meadows with large trees notably chestnut trees which contribute to serene appearance of the place. That is a nice place to lie down , have lunch, take nap or even reading a novel in the green pastures.

Here you can enjoy German food and the best tradition shortened in a glass of beer. From the noble pretzels over the sausages: Everything to fulfill lusts gets offered.

If you’re feeling hungry, don’t forget about sweets, trying the dishes of the Anna Blume café, a very popular café in the area. Oh they do have extremely delicious cakes and other pastry products and the decor here is rather cute.
