If you are lucky enough to be considering a trip to Berlin and you’re inquisitive to which of the beautiful locations you should venture to then read on. The Berlin is famous for its history, culture and great architecture of the capital of Germany. In this article, I will take you through some of the places that are so wonderful you’ll be left struck dumb. Let’s dive in!

1. Brandenburg Gate

The Brandenburg Gate is a symbol of the divide and the rebuild of the Germany. This neoclassical building indeed dominates the entire area of Unter den Linden boulevard and has become the silent witness to a great number of significant events. Stand in awe of it and you can even pass through the small gate into this monument of unity and take great photos.

2. The East Side Gallery

The East Side Gallery is promotion of most permanent panel of the Berlin Wall it remains the biggest outdoor gallery in the world today. Local artists from all over the world have painted the last wall of the building employing rich colors with symbols of freedom and hope. Walk through the gallery and of course admire art though you will also get to discover the history of the city with many conflicts.

3. Tiergarten Park

If you are interested in having a peaceful walk away from the usual crowded city street then, the Tiergarten Park is the right escape. Beautiful lawns, beautiful lakes and beautifully meandering trails – a large expanse of peaceful terrain engulfs this park. There you can take a bike rental or go for a picnic if the environment impresses you. Also you should not miss the Victory Column which has a terrace that provides a viewing gallery of the city.

4. Charlottenburg Palace

Explore the imperial side of Berlin by going to Charlottenburg Palace – the largest palace in the city. Admire the baroque design of the façade, walk through the lavish garden and really appreciate the beautiful interior with pieces of art and history. Be sure to pay a visit in the evening to view the changing of the guard since it is a wonderful extra if you are interested in all things regal.

5. Museum Island

More so for art and history lovers, Museum Island is every bit a heavenly destination. We are privileged to present an area in the very centre of Berlin that is occupied by five famous museums which are included into UNESCO World Heritage Site list. Walking through the sight: Pergamon-Museum, Altes-Museum, Neues-Museum, Bode-Museum and Alte-Nationalgalerie. It is a home to ancient cultures, World’s best art galleries and tourism archaeological sights.

6. Berlin Cathedral

Looming over Museum Island, the Berlin Cathedral impresses with its design and draws visitors’ attention to itself. You can go inside to see one of the world’s largest cathedrals, head up to the cupola for a breathtaking view of Berlin, and much more as you listen to the music played by one of the world’s biggest highway pipe organs in her concert. You shouldn’t let the opportunity pass to visit the crypt located underneath the palace, which is, indeed, the final resting place of some of the members of the Prussian royal family.

7. Gendarmenmarkt

Gendarmenmarkt is, undoubtedly, one of the most beautiful squares in Berlin and a popular cultural area. Enjoy the beuty of german and french Cathedral and Konzerthaus beautiful in the mid. Stop by during the Christmas time to be in a magical spirit of the Christmas market which takes place in the square.

8. Tempelhofer Feld

Tempelhofer Feld is a place which used to be an airport providing large areas for leisure activities. Hire a kite fly, cycle, barbecue, or take a leisurely walk on the deserted tarmac strips. There are also some events in the park also which are annual event so be sure to check the calendar for the festivals if there in the period of your visit.

9. Treptower Park

Treptower Park is a beautiful park with many attractions offering incredible views of the river, lovely garden spaces and meadows and the Soviet War Memorial. The memorial is dedicated to the sacrifices of soldiers that died during the battle of Berlin in world war II. Don’t forget to stop and honor this place and like to do a mini history lesson on the peacefulness of this city.

10. Potsdamer Platz

Potsdamer Platz is a communicative area with interesting contemporary buildings, shops, movie theaters, and cafes. Take a stroll at the Sony Center, rise up to the top of Kollhoff Tower for the bird’s eye view and watch a movie at the IMAX cinema. In the night, the square glows, and this is where the bustles happen.
