With its tall gateposts and twin pillars, it’s one of Berlin’s most iconic landmarks, and a symbol of unity. As a monument standing for both the present and the future of Germany it was once a city gate. It’s an absolute must visit landmark, the gate is beautifully lit up at night.

Museum Island is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is the history and art haven. The largest and arguably most beautiful park of Berlin is Tiergarten. A refreshing excursion from bustling city. Go for a laide walk somewhere along the paths or rent a paddle boat on the lake or have a picnic in nature. The buildings have included iconic landmarks such as the Victory Column and the Berlin Zoo and the park is also situated next to other attractions, like the Torhafen which stretches into the river Spree.

Sanssouci Palace is well worth a day out if you have extra time during your visit to Berlin, so make sure to take a day trip to Potsdam. Conclusion

Berlin seamlessly blends its historical past, with a vibrant present. The tourist places I talk about in this blog post are merely a half picture of Berlin. Explore the city’s one of a kind neighborhoods, try the regional cuisine, and enjoy the city’s great nightlife. However, the most important thing to know about Berlin is that it is an ever changing city, which means you can’t go there to just hang in one place for a couple of days, as you would do anywhere else, and enjoy just pure tourist activities without going really crazy; it will be a completely different experience.
